Before any tree planting, tree spade moving or any excavation takes place, the underground utilities must be marked out by Alberta One Call and secondary locators.

What does Alberta One Call do?
-They provide a free service to locate the primary utility lines to your residence or business.

What is a primary line?
-The Natural Gas, Power, Internet/Phone, Water, Storm Water and Sewer lines that connect your residence or business to the main utility lines.

What is a secondary line?
-The Natural Gas, Power, Internet/Phone, Water, Storm Water and Sewer lines that connect your residence or business to your auxiliary/detached buildings on your property such as a shop, garage or barn.

Who locates secondary lines?
Secondary lines are located for a fee by private companies. We have several companies we use and recommend.

How long does it take to get lines located?
Line locators can takes anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks to arrive at site depending on how busy they are. Actual marking of the lines only takes up to an hour depending on the size of your property.

How long are the locates good for?
Once the lines have been marked they are valid for up to 10 days. We will arrive  in that 10 day period to view the locate slip and markings.

What if I already know where the line is, do I still need it marked?
YES! To insure maximum safety we will not dig any ground with out line markings from proper locators.

Do I have to worry about all of this?
NO! Three Seasons Landscaping can submit a locate request on your behalf and look after the whole process so that we can get planting sooner!
